Terms of Service

Version 2026-09-18 · Effective September 18, 2026

Effective Date: September 18, 2026
Last Updated: September 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tailored Folio LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("Tailored," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of our websites, applications, and related services, including tailoredfolio.com, app.tailoredfolio.com, and share.tailoredfolio.com (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Tailored helps professionals build a private, structured record of their work and create curated, audience-specific presentations from that record.

For purposes of these Terms:

  • Corpus means the private body of professional information and materials you maintain in Tailored.
  • Work Item means an individual record within your Corpus.
  • Artifact means a file, image, document, screenshot, or other material associated with your Corpus.
  • Raw Ledger means the private, unfiltered layer of your Corpus. It is not shared with other people by default.
  • Render means an output generated or assembled from information in your Corpus, such as a case-study section, professional biography, interview answer, or other presentation of your experience.
  • Package means a curated presentation you choose to publish and share.
  • Recipient means a person who accesses a Package you have shared.

Tailored is intended to help you organize and communicate real professional experience. It is not a credential-fabrication service, an employment agency, or a guarantee of employment, business, hiring, or other career outcomes.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs through your account. You must promptly notify us at admin@tailoredfolio.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Tailored may use third-party authentication providers to manage sign-in, authentication, and, where available, single sign-on.

Each account is associated with a Workspace. Multi-member or shared Workspaces may not be available in all versions of the Service.

3. Plans, Billing, and Taxes

Tailored may offer free and paid plans. Current plan features and pricing are displayed within the Service or on our website.

Free Plan

The Free Plan includes a private Corpus, unlimited capture, and up to two live Packages at a time. Packages published under the Free Plan may display a "Powered by Tailored" badge.

We may change Free Plan features or limits from time to time. A change to Free Plan limits will not, by itself, cause existing Corpus content to be deleted.

Individual Plan

The Individual Plan is currently offered at $18 per month or $180 per year, billed in advance. It includes additional features such as unlimited live Packages, Recipient view-awareness, branding controls, and priority support.

Founder's Rate

The Founder's Rate is currently $100 per year, billed annually, and is available to the first 200 paying subscribers or to subscribers who join within the first six months after paid plans open publicly, whichever occurs first.

The Founder's Rate remains available to an eligible subscriber for as long as that subscription remains continuously active. If the subscription is canceled and later restarted, the then-current subscription price will apply.

Payment Processing and Taxes

Payments are processed through Paddle, which acts as merchant of record for purchases made through the Service. Paddle may calculate, collect, and remit applicable transaction taxes as part of the purchase.

You agree to provide accurate and current billing information and authorize applicable recurring charges until you cancel your subscription.

4. Refunds, Cancellation, and Failed Payments

Refunds

Refund eligibility, exceptions, and request instructions are described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Cancellation

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time. Unless otherwise required by law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and prevents future renewal charges. Cancellation does not automatically entitle you to a refund for amounts already paid.

Failed Payments

If a recurring payment fails, we may provide a 14-day grace period to resolve the payment.

If payment is not resolved during that period, your account will revert to the Free Plan rather than being deleted. The two most recently published Packages will remain live, subject to Free Plan presentation and feature limits. Any additional live Packages will return to a private or draft state. Your Corpus will not be deleted solely because a paid subscription lapses.

5. Your Content

Ownership

As between you and Tailored, you retain your rights in the Work Items, Artifacts, text, images, files, and other materials you upload, enter, or create through the Service ("Your Content").

License to Operate the Service

You grant Tailored a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service for you, including to:

  • store and organize your Corpus;
  • process Artifacts and other inputs;
  • generate Renders and Packages at your direction;
  • publish and serve Packages you choose to share;
  • perform security, malware, abuse, and content-safety checks; and
  • use service providers described in our Privacy Policy to perform these functions.

This license ends when the relevant content is deleted or your account is closed, subject to the retention, backup, safety, legal, and recordkeeping periods described in our Privacy Policy.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions necessary to upload, store, process, and share it through Tailored.

This responsibility includes confidential, proprietary, employer-owned, client-owned, NDA-covered, regulated, or otherwise restricted materials. Tailored is not a party to your confidentiality, employment, consulting, intellectual-property, or non-disclosure obligations, and our ability to accept or process content does not mean that you are legally permitted to upload or disclose it.

Tailored may provide tools that help you generalize, redact, or anonymize professional information, but you remain responsible for deciding what information you are permitted to store or share.

Information About Other People

Your Content may include descriptions of colleagues, clients, stakeholders, or other people who are not Tailored users. You are responsible for describing other people fairly, lawfully, and consistently with your obligations to them.

Our handling of personal information contained within Your Content is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI-Assisted Features

Tailored may provide AI-assisted features that help organize, summarize, transform, redact, anonymize, or draft material based on information you provide.

AI-generated output is a suggestion, not an independently verified statement of fact. You are responsible for reviewing and approving AI-assisted content before relying on it or including it in a Package.

Tailored does not independently verify your employment history, credentials, accomplishments, or other professional claims. You may not use AI-assisted features to fabricate experience, credentials, clients, projects, accomplishments, or other material facts.

Automated anonymization or redaction may be incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing material before sharing it.

7. Acceptable Use

Your use of the Service is subject to the Tailored Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP"), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Violation of the AUP may result in an upload or action being blocked, content being restricted or removed, features being limited, or an account being suspended or terminated.

Where applicable law requires Tailored to make a report or preserve information relating to suspected illegal activity, Tailored may do so.

8. Sharing Packages and Recipient Access

Publishing or sharing a Package is your decision. You choose whether to publish a Package, how to distribute its access link, and which available access controls to use.

Tailored does not independently select Package Recipients for you.

You are responsible for safeguarding Package links, passwords, and access credentials and for sharing Packages only with people you intend to receive them.

A Package may include access controls such as passwords, expiration dates, or similar restrictions. No access control can guarantee that information viewed by a Recipient will not later be copied, photographed, summarized, or otherwise retained by that Recipient.

Recipients may be required to comply with terms presented when accessing a Package, including restrictions on scraping, unauthorized redistribution, and circumvention of access controls.

9. Tailored Intellectual Property

Except for Your Content, Tailored and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its software, interfaces, design, branding, trademarks, documentation, and underlying technology.

Except as expressly permitted by the Service or applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, attempt to extract source code from, interfere with, or create derivative works from the Service.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Your Content to Tailored.

10. Suspension and Termination

You may close your account through available account controls or by contacting us.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service or particular features if:

  • you materially violate these Terms or the AUP;
  • your use presents a security, legal, fraud, abuse, or safety risk;
  • we are required to do so by law or legal process; or
  • we discontinue the Service or a material feature.

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before terminating an account for reasons other than urgent legal, security, fraud, abuse, or safety concerns.

Following account closure or termination, Your Content will be handled according to the retention practices described in our Privacy Policy.

Termination for violation of these Terms or the AUP does not entitle you to a refund except where required by law.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions regarding ownership, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and disputes.

11. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TAILORED DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE; THAT FILE PROCESSING, CONTENT MODERATION, REDACTION, ANONYMIZATION, OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE; OR THAT USE OF THE SERVICE WILL RESULT IN ANY PARTICULAR EMPLOYMENT, HIRING, BUSINESS, OR CAREER OUTCOME.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TAILORED AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TAILORED'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

  1. the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
  2. $100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tailored and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising out of or relating to:

  • Your Content;
  • your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or the AUP;
  • your infringement or violation of another person's rights; or
  • your breach of confidentiality, employment, intellectual-property, contractual, or legal obligations relating to material you upload, process, or share through Tailored.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Subject to any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you and Tailored consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may modify the Service and may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make a material change to these Terms, we will provide reasonable notice, such as by email, in-product notice, or a notice on our website, before the updated Terms take effect when required or reasonably practicable.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Electronic Communications

By using the Service, you agree that we may provide account, billing, security, legal, and service-related notices electronically, including by email or through the Service.

17. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, AUP, and Refund and Cancellation Policy, constitute the agreement between you and Tailored concerning your use of the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision.

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. Tailored may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of the Service.

Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
