Company overview

The private record underneath the professional stories people choose to tell.

Most professional work was never designed to become a portfolio piece.

It lives in client engagements, private systems, decisions, research, relationships, presentations, operational improvements, and outcomes that become difficult to reconstruct once the moment has passed.

Tailored Folio gives professionals a place to capture that work while it is fresh, build a durable private record, understand what they have accumulated, curate the right version for a specific professional moment, and package only the stories they choose to share.

Tailored Folio grew directly out of the kind of work Joshua Christensen has spent his career doing.

Joshua is a product strategy and future-of-work leader whose work has centered on making complex, often invisible work understandable and useful. Across product strategy, employee experience, digital workplace, information architecture, adoption and change, and AI, he has helped clients and teams turn ambiguous initiatives into decisions, stories, systems, and outcomes that people can actually act on.

That work repeatedly exposed the same problem: the most valuable parts of a professional career are often the hardest parts to preserve. Context disappears. Client work stays with the client. Decisions and influence rarely become portfolio artifacts. Months or years later, professionals are asked to reconstruct the story for a proposal, interview, promotion, conference submission, or new client.

Tailored Folio is Joshua's answer to that gap: keep the private record first, then decide how to tell the story when a real professional moment arrives.

Story ideas

More than "another SaaS product launched."

  1. Building a SaaS company with AI as a working partner.

What changes when a product strategist can move from concept to functioning software with AI involved across product thinking, design, development, critique, operations, and documentation. The interesting story is not "AI wrote the code." It is how the founder role itself changes when the distance between an idea and a working product collapses.

  2. The professional-memory problem.

Careers create enormous amounts of evidence, but most professionals do not have a durable system for preserving the context around that work. Résumés and profiles capture the summary after the fact. Tailored Folio starts with the record before the details disappear.

  3. Why nonvisual work needs a different kind of portfolio.

Designers, photographers, and other visual professionals have established ways to show the work. For strategists, consultants, researchers, program leaders, operators, sales engineers, and fractional executives, the body of work is often the story itself. What does a portfolio look like when the valuable thing is judgment, influence, complexity, or change?

  4. Privacy-first AI for a professional record.

The raw version of professional work can include sensitive context that would never belong in a public profile. Tailored Folio is designed around a private source record, with AI helping a person reframe what they already captured rather than turning that record into public content by default.

  5. The missing layer between doing the work and telling the story.

Professional tools tend to focus on either getting work done or presenting the polished result. Tailored Folio sits between those moments: preserving the history underneath the eventual résumé bullet, case study, interview answer, proposal, or referral.

  6. Building independently without treating venture capital as the default.

Tailored Folio is being built as a focused, privately held software company. That creates a different set of product, growth, staffing, and customer decisions than a company designed first around fundraising and hypergrowth.
